It is so hard to believe that we are already coming up to the first Sunday of Advent. During this season we marvel together at the Incarnation, the miracle of the Word of God made flesh and dwelling among us.
Over the coming weeks, we will be studying John 1:1-5 in our Sunday morning services, singing songs we know and love as we worship our Lord together.
We will also be holding three special services:
- 14 December – Blue Christmas (please speak with Pastor Dan about how to help serve those who are grieving this Christmas)
- 24 December – Christmas Eve Carols
- 25 December – Christmas Day Celebration service
Service times to coming soon.

In the mean time, here’s a look at what is coming up in 2026:
Scripture Memory 2026
During our series in 2 Thessalonians, we’ve been learning about the importance of knowing God’s Word so that we can be calm, not alarmed, and to not let anyone deceive us with false teaching. It’s one thing to know this as a concept or an idea, but it’s only really helpful to us if we actually go about being a people who know God’s Word.
So starting in 2026, we will be embarking on a year of Scripture memory. There are two ways to take part. One will to follow a plan to learn one new memory verse each week. The other is a plan to memorise an entire Bible book.
Option 1: Fighter Verses
For the first option, we’ll be learning 52 verses, one each week, by following the Fighter Verses plan.
What this will do for us:
- Help to sharpen our theological minds
- We will have ready help in times of struggle and temptation
- As it works into our minds, Holy Spirit works this into our hearts
- It will prepare us when asked to defend what we believe.
There are many ways to access the resources. You can print up one of the reference sheets and keep that in your Bible, you can keep up to date with our weekly Emails where that week’s verse will be shared every Monday, or you can download the Fighter Verses app to your phone or tablet. The advantage of the app is that they have provided quizzes and songs to help with memorisation.
Memorise Philippians
If you are up for a bit of a challenge, you can join me in working to memorise the whole of Philippians by Easter.
Be on the lookout for more info as we get closer to the New Year.
