This week, I wanted to focus our attention on our brothers and sisters who are currently experiencing persecution for following Jesus. Next week we’ll continue with our journey through our liturgy.
During a recent worship gathering, we watched a brief video put together by the team at Open Doors to raise awareness of the persecution of Christians currently taking place in northern Nigeria. Below is the full version of that story.
Alongside the campaign to raise awareness, there is a petition which will be presented to the United Nations and the EU. As a church, we recognise the great freedom which we have to gather to worship God as we see laid out in Scripture. Sadly, this is not a freedom experienced universally and so we are continuing in prayer for these things and I would encourage you to add your name to the petition as well. It only takes a moment.
