I’ve mentioned before about the need for our church to be making disciples. This is the charge that we have been given by the Lord Jesus and it is what everything we do as a church revolves around. We are being discipled (or more properly, disciplined) all of the time in the church. When we gather to sing, to hear the Word preached, to pray together, when we share in fellowship… These are all ways in which our minds and souls are being shaped by God.
And a group of us are being intentional about doing that work each Sunday evening as we run the Discipleship Explored course. There, we are taught, spend time looking at Scripture, asking and answering questions, and praying. And during the week, those who take part will be following along with the same spiritual disciplines: reading and memorising scripture, praying, reflecting and meditating on that week’s topic.
Over the coming weeks, be praying for those who are taking part. Pray that God’s word would be at work in our hearts. And, consider whether you’d be interesting in taking the course the next time we run it! It’s a great opportunity to reset your devotional practice and be encouraged in your faith.

Here’s what’s coming up this week.
Outreach Opportunity
On Sunday, I mentioned that there is an upcoming outreach opportunity for us as a church. Each year, the Highland Games draws thousands to Battery Park and we have the chance to enjoy the day and share the gospel. With that in mind, we are putting together a team to go along after church on 10 May to hand out tracts and gospels along with invites to come to church. If you would like to take part, please respond to this email or speak with me at Tuesday Night Prayer or after the service on Sunday.
Tuesday Night Prayer
We’ll be continuing our series on the Sermon On The Mount at Tuesday Night Prayer from 7:30pm. Join us for a chance to slow down in the week for prayer, meditation on God’s word, and fellowship.
